The idea of Harry buying Gabrielle is interesting--I was wondering if something like that might be in the offing. Should be interesting, either way. That kind of thing is tough to do, but I feel confident from the slow build-up and the basic gentleness that you've established for Harry that you'll be able to avoid the squickier possibilities.
I don't think Harry's any more of a wimp here than he is in canon, either. If anything, he's less of one--the girls are a good influence on him.
Ron being a bit of a git is right in character--I'm curious if this will mean anything for his relationship with Hermione.
That said, don't let me, or anyone else, push you around. Just because one or two vocal individuals say they'll not read further if you do x and y or don't do z doesn't mean there's not plenty of other folk who'll keep reading.

I'm glad you are enjoying the charecters as I'm working ahrd on them.
Updates will happen (and fairly soon) it just depend's upon how my writing goes.
