...why haven't I reviewed this here yet? I love this fic, it has one of the best and most believable characterizations of Amarant I've seen. (Your take on Freya is a bit different from how I've always seen her, but that's okay, I like yours anyway. :) And Gudrun is so good at stealing the show, it's scary. She fits right into the story, like Mel said, if not so much into Burmecia.
And I love the latest chapter, in all its fleeting, awkward, adrenaline-fueled beauty - although the reference to sandpaper did make me wince in sympathy.
