I feel sorry for canon Lavender as well...I mean, she loves RON! Need I say more?
At any rate, while a little fluffy for my tastes in a couple of areas, I enjoyed this chapter immensely. It's nice to see the beginnings of Neville/Pansy, since that's a far from common pairing.
Looking forward to more.
