All in all, this is a good read with an interesting premise. I did not notice too many grammar or spelling errors and the paragraphs were broken up well and flowed nicely. Shinji and Asuka were reasonably in character while Rei seemed to be a little too forward, but not intolerably so.

Now for the bad; Ritsuko and Misato were acting way out of character in taking action on their sexual desires towards Shinji. These desires should have remained in the realm of fantasy. I found myself forced to skim those portions in order to maintain my enjoyment of the story.

One area that could use some work is more in depth examination and interaction with the palace staff, government officials, and the general public.

The palace staff is the most important of these groups as they are the ones who will be around Shinji the most and thus have the greatest impact on him. For example, one of the imperial advisors could easily slip into a grandfather/mentor type role and help Shinji overcome his emotional trauma. The bodyguards and housekeeping staff would also be worth expounding upon as there are many possibilities there.

I look forward to reading future chapters as this fic is well worth continuing.
