Love is the answer, but while you're waiting for the answer,
Sex raises some pretty good questions...

Woody Allen.

Lulu walked the length of the travel agency, in her endless pursuit of Wakka. He said he'd paid for their room already, only now he seemed to have disappeared completely. It was nightfall already, and a cold chill hung in the air.
Softly she pressed her ear to one of the doors. The only noise that greeted her was soft breathing and contented sleep sounds. She pushed the door open slightly allowing some light to slip in over the sleeping forms of Tidus and Yuna, softly as not to disturb them, she pulled the door closed with a soft click. The next door she didn't need to open, she could hear the chirpy Al Bhed chatting nonsensically to Kirmarhi, who she guessed would probably be faking sleeping about now in an attempt to quieten her. She had no need to open this door, she didn't quiet fancy being dragged in to whatever pointless rant Rikku was currently on. The next door, she paused before reaching for the handle, she could hear snoring, Auron. She left the door and moved onto the last one, twisted the handle and pulled it open.
"Wakka?"

Instead of Wakka, she came across a silhouette of a dark man picked out by the sparse moonlight, sitting on the windowsill, gazing blankly out of the window.
"Sorry Sir Auron." She bowed an apology and went to leave. But he didn't move. She stopped before pulling the door closed, puzzled by his lack of attentiveness, as if he'd never even heard her come in. "Are you alright?"
There was a pause. "I'm..." his mouth fumbled around the words "/all right/." He said tightly.
Lulu sighed, stepped forward and clicked the door shut behind her. Slowly she walked to the bed behind him and settled on the edge.
"Do you want to talk?" she tried.
He didn't move. "There's nothing to discuss."
"You're distracted, your attentions divided."
Without looking around, he reached his hand to where his sunglasses lay beside him on the sill and slid them on. Then turned to face her. He looked tired, stressed maybe?
"Lulu, I'm fine."
They stared each other out for a while, until Lulu got up and walked to the window and stared out.
A thousand tiny stars swooned in the blackest sky she'd ever seen.
"It's beautiful," she said blankly, "As a child I used to sleep out under the stars. I used to like counting them until I fell asleep." Then she frowned "there never seem to be as many stars these days."
"You just don't take the time to view them anymore." He said simply.
"Maybe." She looked up again. "Too painful."
"Memories?"
She nodded.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked after a long while of studying her silently staring outside.
"Chappu."
Uncomfortable, he shifted his gaze back to the stars.
"Did you see him in the farplane?"
"Yes," she whispered. "But you'd have known that." She levelled her gaze to his.
"I couldn't."
"Why?"
"I... I don't belong there."
"You can't be serious"
Auron sighed and slid his boots off, running his fingers over his aching feet. He didn't respond to her. "I thought you'd have wanted to see Braska." She tried carefully. Auron flinched and dropped his other boot to the floor with a heavy thud.
"It's... complicated..." he mumbled into his collar.

There was another long silence.
"So... what were you thinking about?"
Auron stared at her, apparently weighing up what to say. He sighed deeply.
"Last time I was here, Braska told me and Jecht that he was going to die."
"Auron... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have disturbed you."
She stood to leave, Auron softly took her wrist.
"It's fine." He said, and she sat back down.
After a few seconds she felt she needed to say something.
"Why didn't he tell you?"
Auron half shrugged and said with silky sarcasm.
"Because he didn't want us distracted." He laughed humourlessly.
"Tidus is in the same boat." She whispered.
"I know."
"So much loss." She drudged unhappily. Auron stared at her over the rim of his glasses. He watched her for what felt like forever, coldly silently, calculating... something.
"I'm scared Auron."
"We all are."

She hadn't expected that, she'd expected something more comforting, and it showed on her face.
"You think I'm not scared?" he said dryly.
"I didn't expect... you're not easy to read."
He smiled, a rare genuine smile. "Good."
"You survived. You're our best shot. You've done it once."
He didn't respond. She didn't look at him. "You shouldn't wear sunglasses indoors, I don't understand how you can see anything."
He hmphed and shifted himself to the bed. "The scar doesn't bother me." She added quickly.
He made no move to remove his glasses; his face bore an unreadable expression. "I meant no disrespect I just wondered how'd you got it." The words slightly nervous, wanting him to say something to break the tension.
He sat silent for a few seconds, then stared deep into her eyes. She hadn't really expected him to answer.
"It was a gift."
"A gift?" she blinked.
"From the day I died."

For a long time, no-one said anything. Lulu felt frozen to the spot, she hoped desperately that Auron would laugh and it was all a sick joke. But after several minutes he hadn't moved she slowly sat down.
"I had no idea." She stated blankly. "Why tell me?"
"We're close to the end of Yuna's pilgrimage. After Sin is defeated, I want her to send me." He untied his armlet distractedly. "I thought you'd be the one least likely to be..." he searched for the word, "/unnerved/." And placed the armlet down. When she didn't respond his mouth twisted into a half smile. "I assumed wrong."
"It's not something you hear everyday." She said calmly. "Why did you not pass to the farplane?"
"I promised Jecht and Braska."
"I see. So whatever happens, at least one of the group will be leaving after Sin's death."
"You expected survivors?" he seemed surprised.
"A few, I never expected you not to be one of them. I have faith in our group."
"We have a strong group." He agreed with a nod.
"When are you going to tell them?"
"When I have too. You should go to bed."
"I..."

She stared as he removed his collar, eyeing the scar that trailed down to his neck and back up again to meet his eyes. Despite the scar he was handsome, a bit further aged than he should have been, but still not a bad sight, her mouth went dry.
There was a knock at the door.
"Sorry to disturb you Sir Auron, I can't seem to find Lulu ya?" came Wakka's familiar voice.
When Lulu stayed silent, Auron opened his mouth to reply, and found it swiftly covered by hers, her hand fixing him in place on the back of his head. He sucked in a breath and recoiled slightly pulling a short distance between them. Lulu's orange eyes burned pleadingly with him.
"Sir Auron?" Wakka tried.
"I haven't seen her." He said, not breaking her gaze.
"Uh okay, well thanks ya?"

As Wakka's footsteps retreated down the hallway, Auron crossed his arms and glanced amused over his glasses at Lulu. She didn't say anything.
"I hope you're going to explain yourself?"
"I didn't think I'd need too. You'll be gone soon." She said sadly.
In a rush it hit him, soon he would be gone, she didn't need to explain anymore, it had been a fabled now or never moment. His eyes softened.
"I understand."
"I wish we'd gotten to know each other better is all. Time is so short." Her hand slipped from his hair to his neck and softly caressed his throat. He blinked.
"Wakka's looking for you." His voice flat.
She smiled.
"I know, I heard him." Her other hand snaked a trail up Auron's leg. His found it and halted it's progress. He stared her down.
"Think." He stated sternly. "I won't deny you anything. But I'm not going to play games."
She half smiled, bringing her other hand around to cup his chin.
"Neither am I." She stated simply, allowing her fingers to worry his jaw line.
There was a pause, then he leant down and his mouth sought out hers in a soft caress.

It was a long kiss, deliberate, slow, soft. Not as awkward as he'd expected, not as harsh as she'd expected. Just smooth, intimate and easy. Auron's fingers softly caressed her bare neck as hers slid into his hair forcing him closer. If they were going to do this, they were going to do this right. Failing that, a slow pace ensured ample time for one to back out.
Eventually Lulu's fingers found Auron's belt and she broke the kiss to unbuckle it. After it was removed and fell to the floor he shrugged off his coat into a red puddle on the bed, leaving him in only black. An equal match to Lulu. He thought haphazardly. He softly brushed her hair from her eyes so he could see both, but she stopped him.
"Only if you take your glasses off." She proposed. He frowned and stopped his efforts to see her face. "I thought so," she smiled, beautifully, and lowered her mouth to his throat and lightly sucked above his adams apple.
He seemed to find it hard to breathe at this, and had to shift his arms to take his weight as he tilted his head back and allowed her full access to continue her sweet assault.
She used her lips to plant tender kisses along his throat and dutifully erasing them with a soft stroke of her tongue, if she had any problem with his stubble, she didn't show it. She nipped at him with her teeth and Auron embarrassed himself with a soft groan, becoming quickly aware of his body's reaction. He didn't want her to stop, but a nagging thought made him ask;
"How long has it been for you?" he breathed barely above a whisper.
"Not since Chappu." She whispered allowing her tongue to explore his ear.
Well that cleared that up, /no Wakka/, he could do this guilt free. All though he'd have had a hard time telling her to stop had the answer been different. Morality, what was left of it, was walking a thin line.
He ran his hands down to her hips and made slow circles on the bare flesh he found between her belts. That dress is going to be a bitch to take off.

When Lulu's hands started raising his shirt, he tensed. She stopped while he forced himself to relax. He fixed his eyes on a point on the wall and pulled his shirt off. Lulu instantly saw what had made him tense; jutting up his right side was a twin scar to the one across his face, only much worse. She realised quickly this must have been what killed him. He refused her eye contact, she wanted him to know it didn't matter, but struggled for the words.

Instead she kissed him, long and deep, silently building his nerve. When she had him fully responding, she trailed her fingers from his jaw to neck and softly to the tip of his scar. She shushed him when he went to react and drove her kisses from his mouth back to his neck. Her mouth marked his collarbone with dark little bruises as her fingertips acceptingly trailed down his scar. His strong fingers tangled in her hair, he leant back onto his other arm giving her a more flattering canvas to explore.
When her fingers reached the bottom is his scar they stroked at the soft hair that disappeared under his waistband. He made a throaty noise. Using the hand firmly tangled in her hair he pulled her back to eye level. She seemed to take the hint without any words, and reached behind to unclasp her dress.
"Turn around." He almost growled. She did without removing her dress, but the movement caused it to loosen. She scooted back so she was on his lap and could feel the tightness enclosed in his trousers. He ran his hand around from over her shoulder and caressed the tops of her breasts, his mouth marking out the pulse in her neck. He was careful not to mark her; unlike him she couldn't cover her throat the following morning. He slid his hand under her dress to her breast and growled hotly into her ear. Lulu seemed to melt, pushing herself into his hand and moaning sensually. His breath was hot against her silk skin, his kisses harsh against her pale flesh. She closed her eyes and moaned as his fingers began manipulating her nipple under the fabric.
Gauging her reaction, he slid his other hand around and under the bottom of her dress to her hold ups. Gradually making purposefully slow touches higher and higher as his mouth devoured her throat in a similar way to how hers had masterfully worked his.
When his fingers reached the top of her stockings she gasped as they skimmed to the intimate bare flesh of her inner thighs. She squirmed against him, desperate for him to explore the area he so torturously avoided. He held her there for several brutal seconds before muffling his laugh on her shoulder.
"Auron please..." she hissed arching against him. He smiled and kissed just below her ear.
When he still refused her the touch her body ached for she decided swifter action was needed, she ground herself on his lap and caught surprised he moaned ungraciously.
"Alright..." he gasped shifting her from his lap.

Lulu stood to remove her dress; she allowed it to slip down over her curves into a bundle at her feet. She never wore a bra and her underwear was the finest black silk. She sat back beside Auron and laid her hands softly on his shoulders as she kissed him.

Auron shifted his weight until Lulu's back found the mattress. He covered her body with his, his mouth never leaving hers. Using one hand to hold her head steady, the other trailed down between their bodies, tracing her curves. Her bare skin felt so soft against his, almost delicate. He raised himself to his knees, abruptly ending the kiss. Lulu smiled, her pupils wide, her breath catching in her throat. Her fingers trailed up the arm he used to support himself.
His free hand slid lower across her stomach taking in each inch of silky skin and slipped teasingly under the fabric of her underwear.
Her nails dug into his bicep at his first truly intimate touch. His fingers worked mercilessly, teasing, bringing her to the edge but not allowing her to go over it, his mouth played along her shoulders, nipping whenever she got too close, shooting the sensitivity to a new direction, momentarily shaking off her orgasm just before it broke. He trailed his mouth and free hand to her breasts. Knowing it wouldn't matter if he left marks here, he drew the blood to the surface in several patches, each making Lulu squirm and press against his fingers more desperately.

Lulu couldn't remember how long ago it had been since she felt so desperate, so controlled, so needy for her own release. She certainly couldn't remember the last time anyone took time to amplify her arousal so tortuously. Her whole body was tense, tightrope walking across the edge of what felt like oblivion.
Her head swam; Auron made a sharp pained noise and continued his actions. He leant down so his mouth was close to her ear.
"You're going to have to let go of my arm." He whispered amused.
"Nhhhhhh..." she dazedly turned her head. She'd dug her nails into his arm so hard blood was seeping across her fingers. "I..." He kissed her, muting her apology and climbed down her body until he stepped off the bed. He knelt on the floor; he reached to her hips and in a strong movement pulled her down the bed. She gasped as he removed her underwear in such a swift movement it was as if she'd never been wearing any. Then all conscious thought blurred into vivid colours as his mouth worked her the same way his fingers had. This time he quickly ceased with the teasing as his tongue playfully drew harsh noises from her. He seemed to know exactly where to touch, exactly where she needed him and his ministration worked her over and over with such precision it wasn't long until she was clawing at the bed sheets and screaming.

He enjoyed the look on her face when he finally allowed her to obtain her orgasm. She flushed almost completely, mewling, then to his horror she'd screamed. Probably waking everyone in the building, never mind, too late to worry about that now.

Lulu pulled back from the brink of unconsciousness to find Auron back on top of her, his fingers looping in her hair and brushing her cheek. She couldn't remember him removing his trousers. The complete skin contact felt warm, his skin was coarser than hers, and it felt good, manly, dominating.
She gave up finding coherent words her mouth didn't seem to be working so nodded instead.
Slowly, inch-by-inch he pushed into her, his sighs echoing hers. His head buried into the pillow just above her shoulder. Her fingers trailed down his spine making his skin prickle, her nails etching out passionate images on his back. She reached for his ponytail and pulled his head from the pillow and pulled his mouth onto her, driving her tongue deviously across his lips.
He began a slow powerful rhythm, each thrust deep. Lulu made small breathy noises each time he sheathed himself completely inside her.

Each time her body arched into his he increased pace and angle. She wrapped her legs around his back, begging him deeper contact, and he obliged his hips pushing hers harder into the mattress with each assault.
He was prepared for the screams this time and pressed his mouth harshly to hers to muffle them. Her nails dug into his back, but too caught up in the moment the sharp pain just spurred him on. The pace seemed to suit Lulu; she writhed in a lusted daze beneath him. He was close, if the sex itself wasn't as long as the foreplay he didn't mind, it was good, it was all-good. Half of his pleasure came from feeling empowered, so the last hour was a god send for him. Lulu tightened around him moaning into his embrace impassioned in her orgasm.

Her release came in pleasurable waves; ebbing and peaking as she rocked herself back to meet with Auron's advances. Her teeth chewed distractedly on his lower lip until it bled and he tore his mouth away and licked it clean of blood.
He wasn't sure if Lulu was fixated on trying to harm him, or if it was just one of her usual reactions to such situations, either way he didn't really mind, his body had taken far worse and he was enjoying himself too much to care about a few minor cuts and bruises.
Instead he knelt and manoeuvred himself out of her reach. His fingers pressed hard into her curves pulling her hips onto his lap without breaking their connection.

From here Lulu had an ideal view from Auron's abdomen to his chest, her eyes could blurrily map out the hard contours and sparse dark hair that fit his demeanour so perfectly. The body of a seasoned warrior she absently thought as another wave of pleasure toppled her completely over the edge.
Enthralled Auron allowed Lulu the intensity of her cries as her body rocked into spasms around him. His breath caught as the intensity swept over him and he gave in to his satisfaction with a deep animalistic growl.

By the time Lulu had recovered enough to speak, Auron had been staring out of the window again, fully recovered for about twenty minutes. He'd put his trousers back on soon after and seemed perfectly content to sit silently watching the darkness. She shifted and sat up, staring at him as he stared away.
He watched her out of the corner of his eye as she got up and slid her dress back on. When she began searching he smiled and handed her underwear to her.
She mumbled and stood beside him, following his gaze out of the window.

Out in the darkness sitting on a patch of grass a small distance from the travel agency, sat Wakka. He rested his head in his hands.

Without moving is eyes from Wakka Auron smiled. "He's going to make you very happy one day."
"Wakka?"
"If you let him."
Lulu watched the man outside for a few seconds, her eyes softened. Then she turned to Auron, running her fingers over the cuts on his arm. "Try not to hurt him." He added. Lulu wasn't sure if it was meant in jest or not, but she nodded.
"Thank you Sir Auron." She said planting a soft kiss on his brow.

Wakka didn't hear Lulu approaching until she softly sat herself on the grass beside him. He looked upset, and quickly wiped his arm across his face when he realised she was there.
"You shouldn't be up so late." He said coldly crossing his arms across his chest.
"Don't be upset."
"That's kinda hard ya?"
There was a long silence where it looked as if Wakka was completely going to break down. Lulu shuffled closer and wrapped an arm around his shoulder pulling his head onto her neck as she soothed him.

Behind them Auron shifted from his place on the windowsill, contented with the pair outside he left them to their privacy and headed to bed, keen to get some sleep in the few remaining hours before morning.

"So... what are you gonna do?" Wakka tried. Lulu thought for a moment, her fingers softly running through his hair.
"I'm going to stay here with you." She smiled feeling his arm wrap around her waist from beside her. She stole a glance to the empty window behind them and then cast her eyes skyward. "I'm going to count the stars."
