0 ReviewsThe second before you die must be filled with the fear of discontent now, a flash of life and what was worth everything you meant. We're all righteous, we have lost our faith, our faith, We're all ...
Sam was in love. It was the first thing I noticed at break. It was something about the way she walked with a new spring in her step. It was also obvious by her glow of happiness and sparkling eyes. She had some guy by the hand. He had black hair, hazel eyes, loads of tattoos and eyeliner. This didn't bother me- Gerard wouldn't be seen dead without it. "Mikey? This is WiL." Sam said breathlessly. "WiL- That's Mikey, one of my best friends." I felt a surge of happiness. She considered me one of her best friends? I mean, I am only younger than her by a few months, but a whole school year, and it's social suicide to be seen with someone in the year below. "Have you seen Gee anywhere?" Sam said, her voice breaking into my thoughts. "What? Oh, yeah. Him and the guys are meeting us here in a moment."
Sam's POV
I nodded and looked for Ray's 'fro while the boys talked about playing bass. "You play too?" I heard Mikey say delightedly. Suddenly, I spotted Ray's fuzzy hair weaving it's way over to where we stood. "They're coming!" I said, clapping my hands. Mikey rolled his eyes. Without warning, both Aimee and Gerard screeched "SAM!!" from behind . "Oh, God no." I groaned, a split second before they squeezed me simultaneously. "Uh, guys? I appreciate the gesture, but I can't breathe!" I gasped. "Oh, sorry!" Grinned Aimee, releasing me.. "Hah!" I said, massaging my ribs. WiL watched all this with a look of amusement. "Right... WiL, this is Bob, Frank, Ray, Gerard and Aimee. Guys, this is WiL." "Hey!" came the collective greeting. WiL grinned and said, "Is this how you spend breaktimes?" "Pretty much" Shrugged Gerard. We made our way to the playing field, Aimee and Gerard holding hands the whole way there. We sat down, and I sent them a pleading glance. "Go ahead" Aimee said. "Yay!! Those two are going out at last!" I screamed, relieved to not have to keep it under wraps anymore. I cartwheeled in a circle, just to be tackled to the ground by Frank. "You never told us!" He squealed. Through all this, Gerard and Aimee just smiled. Frank wouldn't let me up until I agreed to give him skittles as a peace offering. I scowled at Frank and brushed grass off my jeans. The jocks playing football started yelling and laughing, so I flipped them off. I didn't want to sit still. Damn caffeine. I began to climb the conker tree we were all sitting around, but failed. "Hey, WiL, come gimme a leg-up!" I yelled. He got up and helped me up to the first branch. In turn, I held out a hand, which he grabbed, and helped pull him up to the branch where I was sitting.
WiL's POV
Sam announced that Gerard and Aimee were going out. It couldn't have been more obvious she had been dying to tell. I watched in shock as she started turning cartwheels. Frank knocked her off balance and demanded skittles. Sam agreed. Meanwhile, Gerard and Aimee just sat smiling and holding hands. Thats how I wanted to be with Sam- not caring what the jocks thought, and holding her hand if I felt like it, regardless of who we were with. My thoughts were broken by Sam asking for a leg-up. She got up to the first branch of the conker tree we were sat around, and held out her hand, smiling. Also smiling, I took it. I pulled myself up to the first branch. We were separated from the others by layers upon layers of leaves. It was peaceful and calm up there. I turned to Sam and she was already looking at me. She blushed, but didn't look away. Then I did what I'd wanted to do from the moment I saw her.
