As Billie Joe finished American Idiot, the fans screamed, and he took a break. He went to the Green room, sat down and pulled out a beer. He was chilling out when the sound of footsteps rang out. Someone was running down the hall. They stopped outside the door, and knocked.
"Come in unless your a stalker. You can piss off."
A man entered, shaking.
"Mr Armstrong, I have a message from your wife. She's at the hospital with your son."
Bilie Joe laughed.
"Joey broken his arm again skate-boarding?"
His laughter died in his throat as the man shook his head.
"It's Jakob. He was knocked down by a truck."
Billie Joe jumped up, grabbed his coat, and ran. Down the hall, Tre and Mike were walking towards him.
"Hey Billie! BILLIE!" Mike called.
Billie Joe shook his head.
"Jakob...hospital...run over..." was all he could manage as he shot past them.

Adrienne sat outside a room in the hospital, head in her hands, sobbing. Billie Joe cam flying round the corner, knocking a nurse flying. He apologized as he came round the corner. He stopped when he saw Adrienne.
"Oh baby.."
She walked right into him, hysterical. He stroked the back of her head, trying to calm her down.
"Cummon, calm down. It's Ok, I'm here now. Tell me."
Adrienne sniffed, and took a deep breath.
"I was in the kitchen, and Jakob was outside with some friends. Next thing, I heard a scream, and ran outside. One of those furniture delivery vans had come round the corner too fast, and Jakob...he.he.he wasn't quick enough. He was just lying there, not moving with his eyes shut. His head was bleeding. I called an ambulance, and they took him here. They've taken him into surgery for his arm, but they think there could be internal injuries. Billie, they don't know if he'll make it. They said he might me so badly messed up inside. They said he might be in a coma and never ..." she couldn't go on. She fell, weeping into his arms. Billie Joe scrunched his face to stop himself crying. His little Jakey.
"Where's Joey?"
"He was at a friends. Staying the night. I phoned their house and explained. Joey doesn't know though."
At that moment, a trolley cam round the corner, with no end of wires attached. A small figure was lying on the bed.
"JAKOB!" Billie Joe ran over. His son didn't wake up. He looked at the nurse, eyes wide.
"He's in a coma Mr Armstrong. We hope he'll wake up soon, but we're not sure."
Billie Joe broke down over his son's little body.
