“Two vodka cranberries, a beer and a water please.” She smiled widely at the bartender, handing the bills over as the drinks were passed over the bar. Scrunching her nose, she debated how best to carry the all drinks across the club without dropping or spilling them all over herself or someone else.
Securing the water under her arm, the beer between her other arm and her body and grabbing the two vodka cranberries in her small hands, she started to awkwardly step away from the bar, smiling in victory. The smile was quickly replaced as someone roughly crashed into her right shoulder sending the beer and two vodka’s out of their respective glasses and onto her chest and dark brown hair.
Jaw dropped in shock, she breathed somewhat raggedly, staring at her soaked, and basically destroyed, white lacy tank, now stained red.
“Oh my god! I am so sorry!” She pressed her eyes firmly shut to stop the burning that had already begun in the corners, taking a deep breath before opening them to find herself face to face with a man slightly shorter than herself, wearing a red hat and black rimmed glasses, biting his bottom lip as his cheeks quickly flushed a deep crimson. Swallowing, she found the corners of her lips lifting upwards as she noticed how cute he was with that blush staining his cheeks.
“It’s fine…it was an accident, no worries.” He pulled down nervously on the beak of the hat, shifting from foot to foot, his hands now in the pockets of his dark hoodie.
“No please, let me re-buy those drinks for you, and pay for a new shirt or something…I’m so sorry! I feel terrible…I’m always crashing into things…” Her smile grew larger as he continued to ramble, his cheeks darkening even more.
“I’ll let you buy more drinks, but you don’t need to worry about the shirt and you don’t have to keep apologizing, it’s fine!” Smiling, she tried to reassure him. Holding out a now empty hand, she offered it to him. “Kade.” He smirked, his bright cheeks fading slightly.
“Patrick.” She flashed him another smile before stepping up beside him at the bar, where he quickly re-ordered her drinks and handed over the bills to pay for them.
“Thanks a lot Patrick.” He waved a hand, maintaining eye contact a moment longer than necessary before averting his eyes quickly, the red blush staining his cheeks again.
“No problem…it was the least I could do after spilling them all over you.” Picking up the cranberry drinks, he smiled up at her. “How about I carry these ones, that way if some idiot decides to crash into you, you won’t be covered in juice again.” She giggled slightly as she nodded and headed towards the table where her friends were no doubt waiting impatiently for her.
After maneouvering their way through the dark club, they finally arrived at the table housing Kade’s three friends, who, as she assumed, were sitting grumbling about how long she was taking with the drinks.
“What happened to your shirt?!” Ashley, Kade’s best friend, gushed, staring in shock at the red stained tank, clinging to Kade’s chest. Patrick’s cheeks immediately flushed as he placed the drinks onto the table, but Kade laughed lightly.
“Guys, I want you to meet Patrick…I uh…/ran/ into him at the bar.” After some quick introductions, Ashley and the other two girls dashed out onto the dance floor, claiming they “love this song”, leaving Kade sitting at the table and Patrick standing awkwardly beside her.
“So…um…sorry again for spilling those drinks. I hope your shirt isn’t ruined, and really, I’m willing to buy you a new one, or pay for the dry cleaning, or whatever…” Locking her blue eyes onto his, she easily tossed back her long dark hair, smiling once again.
“Don’t worry about the shirt Patrick. To tell you the truth, I’m kind of glad it got ruined.” His eyebrows contracted in confusion as he sat down across from her.
“Why?” Biting her bottom lip lightly, she grinned.
“Well, it got you sitting at this table with me, didn’t it?” The blush creeped back up his neck and onto his cheeks as she continued, “Maybe I planned the whole thing, just so you’d buy those drinks and come back here.” She finished with a wink, barely containing her laughter at the look of shock he was sporting, making her way from the table and onto the dance floor, smirking to herself.
Finding some space on the dance floor amongst the crowd of people, she crossed her fingers that he would come out to find her. The beat of the music was making her slowly move, swaying her hips side to side; the music seeming to course through her body, making it move of its own accord. God she loved dancing.
Her smile widened as she felt two arms wrap around her waist, pulling her back against their chest, his lips pressed close to her ear.
“You didn’t think you were getting away that easily, did you?” His warm breath send shivers down her arms and spine as she spun around in his arms, grinning wickedly.
“Oh no, its all part of my plan.” His own lips split apart, exposing perfect white teeth as he chuckled softly, leaning in closer, their bodies now flush against each other as they continued to sway to the fast beat surrounding them. Maintaining eye contact, she watched his face close in on her own, finding it hard to not watch his lips part slightly inches away from hers. And suddenly, they were pressed together, his slightly chapped lips lightly touching hers, more gentle and heavenly than she could have imagined was possible, and she quickly found herself melting against him. Cruelly, he pulled away, leaning his forehead against hers, grinning fiendishly.
“Was that in your plan too?”
