Grassy Poetry
1 ReviewsSome people might think a darker green is greener, while others prefer a rare shade of light green and see it as greener. Two poems about the grass.
Challenge: Write a Poem about grass (posted by snow_rayjah)
Word Limit: 50-100

Greener
Greener, is it even a word?
I was thinking when I heard,
The cheerful chirps of a bird.
A different shade,
Where children played,
Where flowers laid,
Green, emerald, jade.
Soft or dry, green, brown, none,
But greener? It depends on the sun.
Greener could be darker, or lighter,
Intense or soft, can be seen as brighter.
It's all in the perspective,
Of what's not objective.
It is what is can be,
What you say it is.
Notes: This is my grass poem for Snow's example challenge. The word count is 77 not including the title. The WAFF is reflected in the hopefulness of the poem, it tell us that there is no true definition of greener grass, and that it is however green we think it is. Some people might think a darker green is greener, while others prefer a rare shade of light green and see it as greener. The grass is green because we see it that way.

Green Carpet
"It's green," an obvious statement,
For that grass, held no resentment.
It grew and flourished, content,
Where flowers spread scent.
Oblivious to troubles, willing,
Hopeful, a loving feeling,
Their heart's wishes fulfilling.
In that soft green carpet of grass,
Their free time they came to pass.
Hand in hand, smiling, laughing, singing,
In the calm, the green grass was bringing.
Notes: The second grass poem is 60 words long, 62 with the title. It's about a city couple visiting a /natury place. They're not used to so much green and it puts them in a fluffy mood. They're two very boring people really./
