"The god and goddess, Isa and Casos, banished the other gods into the twilight filled world to rule over world and beings that they have created. The Old World and its dark gods brought Isa and Casos into a great sorrow creating the eight goddesses, Eman, Jael, Nali and Ashira, and gods, Omen, Liam, Doro and Maekasa. When Casos and Isa created the new gods and goddesses, they ordered them to create a new world, our world. Starting with the land. They created the mountains to the North, plains and sea to the East, desert to the west and the forests to the south. Second our overlord and his brethren, thirdly us and our brothers and sisters along with the slime beneath us all, the--"
"Papa!" a tall blonde haired woman walked into the hut where here father and youngest son were sitting on the dirt. Her infant daughter, though wrapped conservatively, was sleeping soundly in her makeshift crib. "Don't tell him that tale!"
"Mama, Tomias's grandfather is an elder 'n--" the blonde haired boy was cut off by this balding grandfather.
"Did Tomias tell ye dat?"
"Uh-huh." He nodded vigorously closing his bright blue eyes while doing so.
"Ho ho! That's impossible, Baron," The man laughed them became deathly serious. "It is strictly forbidd'n fur elders t'--"
"Have wives or bare children." A man garbed in heavy maroon robes walked in to the hut.
"Ch-chief elder..." the haggard face man said standing up and his face grew pale. "Tis an honor sir--" he bowed"-- get up boy and bow." He pulled his grandson up and showed the elder his missing teeth.
"Yes, quite right." He said to the village prophet then turned to his daughter. "I hear from the shaman that you had your fourth." He said walking toward her as she picked up her now crying daughter and held her close to her bosom.
"Yes." She walked away from him with her voice shaky and a cautious look on her face.
"May I see it?" he held his arms out with malice clearly showing in his eyes. "If you don't we will use force."
"Nora, please, let him see Jael." The prophet made the elder turn away letting the mother escape through a window but her escape was cut short, for the hem of her skirt got caught on the windowsill making her fall and drop Jael where she was caught by yet another elder before hitting the sand.
"You know, Nora, it is against the town rules to not heed what is spoken by an elder." The elder who was holding Jael said inspecting her. She slowly got up and moved toward her child and the elder.
"Please, I will do anything. Just give me back my daughter." She pleaded on her knees to the elder.
"You had an immunda." He stated coldly wrapping the child back up. "You know what we do with the immunda."
"Are we ready, Elder Cuma?" the first elder asked to the second.
"Yes head elder." He bowed taking the infant to the elders' residence.

"Everybody line up!" a tall lightly cloaked man demanded as the villagers stood in a row. The man removed his cap to run his tan fingers through his black hair and tousled it before placing it back on his head. A woman with long brown hair and shimmering blue eyes walked up to the line of villagers as one caught her eye.
He was a boy no older than 6. He had short black hair and dark eyes. His skin, like all the others his age, was a golden brown color. His clothing was covered in dirt like the rest.
"Mosis, Look at him." She said turning to her escort. "He's such a handsome boy." She stroked his cheek than walked to him.
"Can I raise him? As our own?"
"But, Queen Ishtar, he's an immunda." The guard said to her with a disgusted face.
"Up north where the elves, my people, reside we don't care on what color or race anyone is. After all I married your king, your brother." She spat and in response he scoffed.
"Come here boy." He snarled and the boy obeyed the pharaoh's brother and moved forward to the two.
"What's your name little one?" the queen asked him.
"Rom..." he mumbled.
"I'm sorry I didn't here that. Could you repeat it for me?"
"Romulus, ma'am." He bowed to her.
"There's no need for bowing my son. Nor calling me 'ma'am'. Call me mom." She smiled leading her new son away from the town's people she turned and said to her brother-in-law. "And Mosis. You may pick the new servants and guards."
