  Wow, I really liked it. I was afraid you were some religious nut trying to preach via Fanfiction, but this really was moving. Ed stayed in character throughout the confession, and I loved the wording of what he said. And that ending really grabs you. Overall, I liked it! I think that it could stand on it's own pretty well too. That if I had never heard of FMA in my life and then read this story, I would still think of it as well written and intruiging. And this is coming from an Athiest!
