Show Your True Feeling

Story Nine: Calm Ocean

Yuri and Wolfram departed on their vacation the next day, having packed their bags, said their goodbyes and boarded the ship by mid morning. As the ship left port, right on schedule, Wolfram felt his sea sickness hit him hard, but it would all be worth it if he could get Yuri to admit his feelings once they reached land.

"Do you want to try Anissina's invention?" Yuri joked as he stood next to Wolfram up on the deck of Calm Ocean, their new ship.

Wolfram pouted and gave Yuri a look of disbelief.

The Maoh laughed lightly, "relax, I'm just kidding. But what is Anissina's invention anyway; I haven't seen it around here."

"Who knows, but I'm not using it. If you find it, you should throw it overboard before it explodes and sinks the ship... oh..." Wolfram felt as if he would lose his breakfast, and mentally kicked himself for not skipping it that morning. But nothing happened. Instead, Wolfram was pained by a pounding head ache. "Ow..."

"That's not nice! It's a gift and we should treasure it, even if we never use it for safety reasons." Yuri caught Wolfram as he started to slip overboard, "Wolfram! Your sea sickness is worse this time..."

"No... my stomach doesn't hurt anymore. For some reason I don't feel like losing my breakfast either, but I'm getting a really bad head ache." Wolfram held on to the railing for support, "of course it's nothing I can't handle..."

"You're also light headed, dizzy and pale, maybe you should rest bellow deck. C'mon, you might feel better if you lie down," though Wolfram was stubborn about accepting help, Yuri still managed to take him down to their room bellow deck. "Stay here, I'll go ask the captain if there's something you can take for your sea sickness and head ache."

Wolfram's response was a soft "ow," which worried Yuri.

The Maoh assumed there had to be some kind of first aid kit somewhere on board, and that the kit would include medicine, or herbs, or something that could help Wolfram. Yuri just had to locate the first aid kit. He went up to the deck, to small cabin where the ship's steering wheel was. "Captain, I need to ask you something." There was no reply. "Captain? I'm coming in now." Yuri opened the door and found a strange machine hooked to the steering wheel controlling the ships course. Yuri gasped, his eyes opened wide and his heart pounded. "Oh no..." He followed the wires coming out of the machines along the walls of the ship and realized that those wires he saw in his room and all over the ship were not decorations after all. "Don't tell me this entire ship is Anissina's invention?!" Yuri bolted out of the steering room and returned to his room.

"What took you so long, wimp?" At least Wolfram was well enough to call Yuri by his usual nickname. Wolfram looked at his fiancé's empty hands. "Never mind if you didn't find anything, I don't need medicine. Besides, lying down really helped... What's wrong with you? Say something! You're white as a sheet and you look like you just saw a ghost!"

Yuri gulped, and went over to the closet, pulling out a pair of life jackets. "It's okay, we'll be fine, don't worry. Just put this on."

Wolfram looked at the life jacked and blinked. "The ship looks strong and sturdy; it's not going to sink."

"Yeah, that's what they said about the Titanic and it sunk!" Yuri fastened his life jack on and started to put Wolfram's life jacket on him.

"No it didn't," Wolfram struggled not to wear it. "I saw Titanic before we left; it was anchored in Dock Four."

"Never mind, I was talking about a different ship, and will you please put this on? Wolfram, just listen to me and don't ask questions, please!" Yuri pleaded.

The way Yuri plastically begged worried Wolfram, but he complied, just that once, and put the life jacked on. "It's not like you to be afraid of ships. You're hiding something! Did something happen while you were gone just now? Did the captain try to flirt with you?"

There was a long silence in which Yuri realized that he would not be able to keep the truth hidden. Even if he denied it, Wolfram would go up to have a talk with the captain anyway and see for himself that there was no captain. Yuri thought he might as well tell Wolfram the truth. "You know that invention Anissina said you would find on the ship?"

"What about it?" Wolfram feared the worse.

With a worried expression, Yuri revealed the truth, "this ship is the invention!"

Wolfram turned ghostly pale, a shocked expression taking over his face. "You mean, we're in the middle of the ocean riding on Anissina's invention?!" They had been sailing for a while and it would be very hard to swim to shore if they abandoned the ship; in fact, it would be nearly impossible. Besides, there was nothing but opens seas as far as the eye could see and they couldn't trust the ship to have been moving in a straight direction, so jumping and swimming for their lives was out of the question.

Yuri slowly nodded. "We'll just have to trust her and hope the ship doesn't sink... or blow up."

The two boys held on to each other in fear. "Don't be scared wimp, we'll survive." He didn't plan to admit it, but Wolfram was just as terrified as Yuri.

Yuri returned the hug, "right, we'll definitely make it out of this," he could only hope. Yuri wanted to find the perfect moment to admit his feelings for Wolfram; he didn't want to make a hasty confession while fearing for his life, so he just hugged his fiancé and wished for the ship to reach land soon.

To be Continued

Disclaimer, I don't own Kyo Kara Maoh. Poor Yuri and Wolfram, but it's so much fun to pick on them. XD
