Nick’s POV
I walked into the hospital room. There was a boy on the bed playing a Nintendo DS light. The little boy looked up as I entered. “Hi I’m Nick Jonas!” I introduced myself. The kid looked up and nodded. “Uh, is there anything you wanted to ask or talk about?” I wasn’t used to this reaction from kids.
“Yeah” he said in a weak voice. I threw a glance at his charts. Leukemia. That would explain his baldness. 3 months estimated. Wow. And I thought diabetes was bad. “What time is it?” My eyes widened. What time is it? What kind of kid wants to know that? I mentally shrugged and glanced at my watch.
“Uh, 8:45. Why?” The boys eyes lit up. “Oh, I forgot what’s your name?”
“Teddy. Can you hit that button there?” He asked in that same poor voice. Teddy pointed behind my head.
“Sure.” I hit the button and a blond nurse appeared. Her name tag said Nancy.
“Excited?” she asked grinning. Teddy nodded with more energy. What the heck is going on? “Here are your pills, I’ll see you there!” Nancy handed him the pills and Teddy swallowed them.
“What time is it now?” Teddy asked after an awkward silence.
“9:50?” Teddy shot up.
“Let’s go!” He got out of bed and took my hand. I put my arm around him to help support him.
“Where are we going?” I asked.
“I forgot you don’t ever come here being famous and all. You’ll see.” He said. Nick walked with him into a large room. His eye’s landed on the most beautiful girl. She had wavy blond hair, blemish free tan skin, big sapphire blue eyes, and straight white teeth. Her eyes were full of pain, and for some reason I hated that, I wanted to protest her from it.
I looked down and saw Teddy watching her too. She was sitting in a wheelchair and a nurse was messing with the three needles stuck along her arm. Once the nurse was pulling the last one out I looked back at Teddy. “Who is-“ I was cut off by Teddy.
“CAROLINE!!!” Teddy screamed attacking the girl as she stood up. The pain in her eyes disappeared when she saw the running boy. She bent down scooped him up and spinned him around. I was amazed the difference in Teddy this girl made, he wasn’t as energetic as a normal boy but he was halfway there.
“It’s almost time.” Caroline stated as she and Teddy watched sick kids come into the room smiles on their faces, most of them still looked close to death. Many kids came over and hugged Caroline. Then something clicked in Teddy’s head.
“Caroline this is my ‘visitor’ Nick Jonas.” Teddy said.
“Nice to meet you. You’re an inspiration!” she shook my hand and walked off. What does that mean? The lights went down and Caroline appeared on stage holding a mike.
“I can’t believe ONE week ago there were only FIVE christens here now there are around THIRTY-SIX!” she said in the mic. “So this is for you!” A song started to play and her angel’s voice filled the room, the kids in there looked like healthy normal kids.
Then it clicked. She was SO full of the holy spirit, and to top it I was in love
