Never Forget

Chapter 18

A few seconds passed and Timmy was still alive and well, he was a little tense wondering why he kissed Vicky, but soon his mind just shut up when he realize that she has not pushed him away and off the ferris wheel... then she did, but he didn't fall.

She sounded surprised, letting out a small yelp, caught off guard. "Ew gross!"

Timmy opened his mouth to speak, but no words came to him so he closed it again and looked angry.

"Get off!"

"I already let you go," Timmy glared.

"Idiot!" Vicky ripped the hand that was clutching her foot off holding it up by a finger, blood dripping from the wrist.

"Oh, you were talking about that," then it wasn't Timmy that had made Vicky react in such a way, for that he felt relieved.

"Don't look so relived!" Vicky yelled, "in case you haven't noticed," she dropped the hand on the floor and kicked it away, "there is a severed hand bleeding and moving."

"Yes I see it," it reminded Timmy of the head except it was a hand, and he had a feeling that there was a connection; but it was just a hand so how much trouble could it cause? Though he did admit it turned his stomach just to look at it, yet somehow Timmy managed to get distracted by something else. "I'm your date so how come you're not holding on to me for protection?" Timmy had Cosmo and Wanda, he had his reasons to feel safe, but for Vicky it was different.

"Did you have something to do with this?" The familiar fire in Vicky's eyes lit up again.

"Of course not!" Timmy truthfully said, "this is just gross, besides I wouldn't have... interrupted."

"No, I suppose you couldn't manage to make something like this," Vicky observed as the blood continued making a puddle on the floor. "To answer your question, I'm not clutching you for dear life because I don't scare that easily, but I would like to get down from here."

"I want to get down too, I wish the ferris wheel would let us down," that was all it took for it to start moving again. Cosmo and Wanda blended into the decorations and wondered why Timmy wished for the ride to end so soon. They had started giving him some privacy when the kiss started, but they felt his wish.

The headless body of a woman socked in blood picked up her missing hand and reattached it with a needle and thread. Her entire body was held together that way, big pieces of skin missing to expose some bones. A black mist swirled around her and the amusement park's lights went off leaving Vicky and Timmy in total darkness.

"Let's get out of here," Vicky was brave but not stupid, and she knew it was time to run of her life. She and Timmy ran away, occasionally tripping and crashing into signs, trash cans and small stands making their way in the darkness.

"I wish the monster would stop chasing us!" Timmy's wish had no effect, he knew because the creature was still running after them a fact made obvious by the noise of the footsteps and the miscellaneous items being thrown at them. "I wish Vicky and I could get to safety!" The footsteps were still coming closer and closer.

The scent in the air was foul and though they didn't notice in the darkness it was all covered in a black mist that blocked certain wishes. The head that the killer carried belonged to his companion whose body fell apart soon after creation, but it was never actually destroyed, or even found. It had put itself back together most likely without even the killer finding out.

"I wish I at least had a flashlight!"

"Shut up, wishes won't come true just because you're saying it!"

Then without a logical explanation, for the reason was magic, Timmy had a flashlight. "I just remembered I did bring a flashlight."

They entered the mirror maze hoping to lose the monster. "This is exactly what they do in movies and it backfires," Vicky remarked.

"Then why didn't you run away from here?" Timmy asked, lowering his voice to a whisper. The creature chasing them had no head, and thus no ears, but he tried to avoid making noise just it case it could hear by magic.

"Don't take as more than just this, but I'm not going to abandon you with that thing," Vicky replied, whispering as well. It was somewhat illogical to think a being without ears could hear, but it was even more illogical that a headless creature was chasing them, so all precautions should be considered.

Before Timmy could reply, a reflection was seen in all the mirrors, the monster. "I guess this is why you said it always backfires."

"We're running from a headless woman, this makes no sense. If anything we should have the advantage in a fight. There's two of us and we still have our heads..." for now, she mentally added. Vicky had to tell herself that they would make it out of this and that it was not as bad as it looked, because it looked deadly bad. She was frightened and making an inhuman effort not to show it. She was brave but no matter how brave she was, this was too much.

"We can't fight magic," Timmy took Vicky's hand and ran, able to identify the real monster because of the shadow she casted on the floor with the light of the flashlight. It looked like Cosmo and Wanda were only able to grant small wishes like the flashlight.

They managed to get to Vicky's car. She dropped the keys twice, cursing each time. Her hands trembling, fear finally catching up to her in full, not that Timmy was doing much better.

The monster's magic was blocking the magic of Cosmo and Wanda, they were there, Timmy felt it somehow, but they couldn't do anything and it was all because of the monster's dark magic.

"Get in quick!" Vicky tried to start her car but it wouldn't work. She tried again and again, the dark creature approaching.

"It could catch us any time, but it's letting us run away and chasing us," Timmy knew the dark magic could do that, and he knew he hardly stood a chance against that being, but he had to try.

"I wish Vicky's car will take her far away fro here," Timmy jumped out of the car.

Vicky's car started and drove away on its own. She stepped on the breaks and tried to turn back for Timmy but the car wouldn't respond and she was locked in.

The lights from the amusement park returned, the rides moving at wild speeds on their own, flashes in every color providing extra light. The dark mist cleared out and Cosmo and Wanda appeared.

"Your companion wanted to make you rest in peace, and to get revenge on me. It looks like only a part of you was put to rest, the head. He didn't know the body was still alive. Now you're here and I don't know if you can hear me or somehow sense my thoughts, but either way you should know that Vicky and I are both coming out of this alive, I will make sure of that," Timmy was determined to make it work, they came so very far and he wouldn't let that fall apart.

Timmy realized that he would go very far to protect Vicky, and that she needed him more than she admitted. But back then when the hand appeared Vicky had not pushed him away yet, maybe she was starting to open her heart, and maybe he was doing this for more than the pressure of a life depending on it. Maybe he would have gotten to this point eventually even if Vicky's life wasn't in danger.

The black mist returned and the scenery changed, it was a dungeon. The monster had teleported him to a dungeon and his fairies were no where in sight. The dungeon was filled with terrible creatures that wasted no time in attacking him. The battle only lasted for about ten minutes but to Timmy, who was vastly outnumbered, it felt like so much more.

Timmy was suddenly teleported to a secluded cell and there was Vicky. "Vicky!" He hugged her, glad to see her alive. He was hoping that she would get to a safe place but even if she was trapped there, at least he knew she still lived.

"Idiot..." Vicky whispered. She didn't know how she got there. She was in the car and the next second, she appeared in the dungeon cell.

Timmy tried to smile, to give her hope. Vicky sat down and Timmy laid down next to her, his head resting on her lap. "We'll make it out of this." He said softly.

Vicky sighed, "I suppose you're expecting me to get us out of this..." No amount of connections would work when there was magic involved, and she felt a strong sense of deja vu; as if she had Timmy had fought for their lives before. Vicky did not fall asleep instead watching as Timmy slept.

Hours passed until the cell's door was opened. Vicky quickly woke Timmy and they watched as the headless monster held out a rusted arrow to them. "I think she wants us to take it..." Timmy took the arrow and half of it turned golden.

"A magic arrow," Vicky touched the arrow, her fingers gracing the feathers in the back end, and the other half turned golden.

The monster held her hands over her heart then let them down. A few seconds passed, the creature was in the doorway. She repeated the gesture towards her heart again and waited.

"Rest in peace," Timmy voiced, "it looks like she just wants to rest in peace now."

Vicky and Timmy held the arrow together and granted the creature's wish. Even if the body fell apart, the monster didn't die unless her heart was pierced. When the dark being collapsed, the spell that held Cosmo and Wanda trapped in a different cell of that same dungeon was undone and they were quick to find Timmy and heal him. The danger was finally over for good.

"It all ended where it started," Timmy told his pink and green cats as they walked to Vicky's house. "She's cured but doesn't remember anything..." Timmy was allowed to keep Cosmo and Wanda because he and Vicky defeated both monsters, but Vicky's memories still had to be erased.

The dungeon was a place located in Fairy World, a prison for dark creatures. Jorgen had found them soon after the monster died. The golden arrow that used to be rusted was an item stolen from cupid, a cursed cupid's arrow that could only be restored by love and turned to gold when the curse was broken.

The Tooth Fairy was said to be able to sense a curse as easily as a cavity so when Jorgen was told about Vicky's curse, the Tooth Fairy was consulted. Her verdict was that Vicky was cured. But her memories still had to be erased once again, and even if she had fallen in love, she was supposed to have forgotten all of it.

"It will work out Timmy," Wanda tried to lift his spirits, "if you really care about her then you can start over..."

"Yeah, then maybe she'll be nice this time around," Cosmo decided to be optimistic.

"Here we go again..." The two cats hid and Timmy knocked on the door.

Vicky opened it and let him in. "You look like you're in a pretty bad mood today," she observed.

"It's frustrating to work hard towards something and have all the progress erased," Timmy replied.

Love was a powerful force; maybe more powerful than fairy magic itself. "Can you really call a horror movie of a date progress?"

He stared at her, "horror... date... but how?" how could she possibly remember.

"I don't know, I don't remember what happened clearly but little bits and pieces are coming to me slowly. I won't tell anyone about... you know." she referred to his secret, the fairies. Jorgen thought that Vicky's memories had been erased; there shouldn't be anything to stop that process. But it didn't work and it could only be classified as one of those mysterious times when magic worked in its own way instead of how it was intended, and it would be alright as long as it was kept a secret.

"I'll ask you out again only if you promise to be nice."

"You have to earn it..."

"Fair enough..." they kissed for the second time, now with no interruptions.
