Never Forget

Chapter 14

The soft murmurs of the TV were lost in the silence as Vicky took a long moment to reply. "Nice?"

"What? It's not that unbelievable, you can be nice sometimes," Timmy admitted. "I just don't know why you're so defensive all the time..." People were defensive to avoid being hurt, Timmy reasoned, but someone as strong as Vicky... that was hard to picture. Still she was human and maybe believing she couldn't be loved was what constantly hurt her the most. "Sorry."

"What for?"

"I kind of sounded like I knew what I was talking about but I guess I don't know you all that well. I've known you for years but I don't know you well enough..."

"I know you less, I have information in my head that I didn't normally obtain and if anything, it's more confusing than useful." Because the fury she felt for the traitor couldn't be directed at the kind blue eyes of the man who tried so hard to make her happy.

"Then just forget about it and start again now," it felt ironic to say it when Vicky's remembering was part of what started this.

"Can you?" She honestly believed he couldn't. Despite the images in her head, she believed that no one, especially Timmy Turner, could forgive her, and she never really tried to earn that forgiveness; it was impossible in her eyes.

"If you try," Timmy replied.

"Tough luck Turner," a moment of silence followed.

"Timmy," he spoke.

"What?"

"Turner is better than twerp but Timmy will do."

Vicky was a little surprised at herself. Turner, that's what the future dictator called him, the woman in the peaceful happy future called him by a far more affectionate name when no one hear and just Timmy if there were others around. Vicky couldn't help it but to feel a little jealous of her, of the version of herself she couldn't believe she could be. Maybe not so much because of Timmy but more so because that version could be loved, and her current self couldn't, or so she thought. "Twerp."

Timmy rolled his eyes, he should have expected stubbornness. "Victoria."

"Only the business people call me by my full name like that."

"Oh sorry, your highness."

A small smile escaped her, "I'll get mad if you keep being sarcastic."

"When you're tired, you're not as mean and sometimes you even smile..."

"Only when I'm tired," Vicky admitted.

"You should try more often..."

"I have nothing to smile about. This is stupid, you said yourself you didn't know me. Just shut up," she turned the TV's volume up.

Timmy picked up the remote control as soon as Vicky put it down and turned the TV off. "Clearly Jorgen's plan isn't going to work, we both know that much. Shouldn't we come up with something instead of just... Whatever it is we're doing."

"Do you have a death wish?"

"No doubt you could have killed me a thousand times over in the past, but that would have been troublesome. I'm pretty sure you could pull out some hidden weapon out of no where right now, shoot me and get away with it, you have the connections now... But we both know you're not going to do that."

"What's your point?"

"My point is that deep down you're not so bad and maybe the reason why you hated me all those years was because you suspected I knew and-"

A tall shadow appeared behind the couch where they sat, two large hands pushing their heads together until their lips met. They parted as fast as the captor's grip allowed.

"I am going to kill you!" And she aimed the magic gun at Jorgen, sure it was made stunt but with Vicky shooting at him, the large fairy had not time to think about that.

"It was for your own good, to capture the criminal!" Jorgen poofed away.

"Timmy! Call your fairies back I'm going after him!"

"Cosmo! Wanda!" No answer, "Cosmo! Wanda!" A few minutes passed. "Cosmo! Wanda!" Timmy started to sound worried then the two fairies poofed into existence.

The fairies looked at Vicky, "Jorgen..." Wanda excused the delay, "he said we had to help with..." she trailed off not quite sure how to word it.

"With making the two of you fall in love!" Cosmo cheered.

"I have an idea," Vicky spoke in a fake sweet voice. "If you're going to make us fall in love you should take us to a romantic place like the world of the fairies..."

Cosmo's face turned as green as his hair. "Trust me; you don't want to go there now..."

"We could go someplace else..." Wanda offered, trying to change the subject.

"It's that bad? And it's all my fault..." Timmy blamed himself once again.

"Again with the self pity and guilt trip? It's not really your fault you know," Vicky wasn't even sure why she tried to point that out.

"It is, even if he would have escaped anyway, the one who made that creature was Crocker and the one who caused his fairy obsession was me. Then that thing went out and killed fairies because it hated me!" Timmy put the pieces together even if they didn't quite fit.

"Crocker made that creature to have his own set of fairies, the female fell apart and the male was closer to anti-fairy than a fairy." Vicky knew all of this from her connection to that being and she could tell apart the truth and lies easily. "He went to fairy world seeking to relieve his companion, the head, of her pain and the scientists there experimented with her and captured him. Crocker programmed that being to take revenge so that if he died he wouldn't go down alone." They had heard about that from Jorgen too. "The experiment killed the fairies because of the experimentation on the head, and he wants you dead because of the chip." That was it, "if we could remove it..."

"How are going to do that?" It looked hard, if not impossible to Timmy. How would they get close enough?

"No, not remove it, reprogram it..." Vicky changed the proposed plan.

"That's it!" Wanda agreed. "Think about it, Jorgen hates relying on humans, the idea of reprogramming the chip is like relying on human technology. He's not taking this option into consideration."

"I'm lost," Cosmo declared.

"Alright then it's decided, we'll find someone who can reprogram the chip," Vicky spoke she then looked at Timmy as if waiting for him to do something.

"Sounds like a plan..." Timmy soon realized that agreeing wasn't the only thing that he was expected to do. "I wish we were at Crocker's laboratory." They might as well have a look around.
