Chapter 12
"I wanted her to rest in peace, that's all she fell apart before she had a chance but she didn't die, she suffered and bled all the time," the severed head the assassin carried was alive somehow, he wanted to put her out of her misery. "I didn't do that to her, but she asked me to put her to rest. I killed others to find out how, they all died completely, the practice was useless. Jorgen said he ordered the scientists to stop experimenting on her, that they should stop seeking miraculous cures out of her condition. He said it would be troublesome to keep her alive and that she would be finally put to rest, I made a deal with him. Don't you know? I've caused a big massacre in Fairy World, the big guy was desperate and accepted my terms. So many died and now her suffering will end..." The killer laughed manically, the sound echoing all over the house.
"Timmy!" Vicky's voice was heard.
"My mission, revenge, the thing I was made to accomplish. I killed him, my creator but I feel compelled to grant his last wish... yes..." Then the assassin disappeared.
"Timmy, answer me!" Vicky's footsteps got closer and faster.
"Fairy World..." Wanda whispered.
"Go," Timmy voiced.
When Vicky arrived, Cosmo and Wanda were already gone. "Idiot why didn't you answer me? I thought you were dead or something!"
"No... Not that easily," Timmy half whispered.
"What happened?" Vicky had heard the unmistakable insane laugh of the killer and Timmy looked a little pale. She knew there were things he wouldn't tell and she knew it was useless to insist. Vicky had cooperated more than she herself thought she would. She left Timmy alone for a few minutes and the room in Paris had been clean, the severed head gone. It was magic, no doubt, and she had chosen not question him further.
"The killer, he caused a lot trouble in... another place. I'm going to have to go without magic for a while my magic is... needed in that other place," Timmy wanted to sound somewhat reasonable without saying too much.
"Right, and I'll keep pretending I have no idea what you're talking about," Timmy stated at Vicky for a long moment, "if I say it, it would be bad right?" Of course, she was smart enough to figure it out, maybe the close calls in the past had been too close. "Goldfish don't live that long," it was enough to confirm it.
"How? Why?" She knew, but apperently Jorgen had not realized that Vicky knew.
"You weren't as secretive as you should have and whatever seal was placed over my memories is gone now, torn away little by little by the spell that prevents my memories from being erased. I even remember being a dictator and the things that happened. Your future self, my most trusted solder... a traitor."
"I don't remember any of that; to me he was like a different person. Myself but different..." Timmy admitted.
"How interesting," the voice of their enemy came as a distance echo. "But the prince and princess if he wasn't a traitor wouldn't look like the queen. It seems her genes are set to skip a generation. After that, the grandchild, yes... Oh sorry, was I intruding? I'll leave you alone now, for real, yes..."
"That's it! We're tracking him down." Vicky couldn't take it anymore, the mere thought of that being spying on them all the time made her blood boil.
"What prince and princess? What grandchild? Who is he talking about?" Timmy questioned.
"Never mind that, I'm going to get something, I'll be right back" Vicky headed towards the basement, digging around old boxes and pushing seemingly normal things out of the way. Then she pulled out a futuristic looking gun. "Not much but it will have to do."
Timmy stood at the door to the basement, "is that a laser gun?"
"Yes, but the laser is special. It doesn't kill, it only stuns, and it only works on magical beings. It was a gift from a hunter society I never really joined."
"Fa-" Timmy stopped himself, "that kind of hunter?" He knew they existed, he had encountered a few. "I'm kind of glad you didn't join," no doubt, Vicky would have been the deadliest.
"You better be," Vicky grinned. "Now, call the muscle man, if he tried to take your friends away I'll shoot him. Don't worry; he can't do much now that I remember everything."
"Jorgen? Do you really think he'll come if I just call?"
A second later the aforementioned body builder fairy appeared, "puny humans!"
"Puny?" Vicky raised an eyebrow, gun aimed at Jorgen.
Jorgen nonchalantly cleared his throat, "Puny human and deadly human," he corrected, "I bring news!" He paused for a long moment wondering who he should deliver the news to. It might make the situation too awkward to tell them both. "First I'll show you this..." He poofed the three of them away to what looked like an underground laboratory but it was a complete mess. He pressed a button on a very large computer and a video appeared on the big screen.
Denzel Crocker appeared on the image speaking seriously and composed, "I have started this experiment in hopes of creating..." he jumped and flailed when he said the next word "fairies!" Then cleared his throat and composed himself again, "it can either end very well or very badly. I have recorded this message in case it ends badly. If you, whoever you are, are watching this, then that means my experiments had turned on my and most likely already killed me. If you are expecting some secret way to stop the evil I unleashed you'll be very disappointed. If I could stop it, I wouldn't have let it kill me. Good luck trying to get rid of the dark..." He once again jumped around like a mad man, "fairy!" The message ended there.
"There is one more thing that this message didn't reveal. If the experiment fails, for the sake of giving it some usefulness, an emergency program in the chip rooted to the cloned anti-fairy's brain will activate automatically when the creator fails to disable it in a set amount of time. That program will cause the failed experiment to seek revenge. This will happen if the creator, Crocker, can't control the clone, so that it even if it's just unconsciously, will at least grant the one who made it one last wish," Jorgen explained.
"Is this revenge for me?" Timmy asked even if he already knew the answer. How ironic that he was the one to, according to Jorgen, free this terror upon himself. "Then why must Vicky be involved? What about Cosmo and Wanda?"
