Never Forget

Chapter 11

The garage door opened and Vicky drove in. It was a completely different car from her usual overpriced one. It looked pretty normal as did the house next to the garage. "We weren't followed, at least not by something that isn't magical." She announced as she crossed the door on the side of the garage to the adjacent house.

"This is actually your house?" Timmy was surprised to say the least. "But if you have a house in Dimmsdale then why did you need to stay in the hotel?"

"This is more my hide out than my house," it had an odd ring to it when Vicky said it, as if she was plotting to take over the world.

For all Timmy knew she was, but he understood that she meant hide out in a different sense. "I get it, from the media and business people."

"Yeah, there's not much here though, but at least they won't look for me in such a small house," Vicky headed up the stairs, pausing in the middle to look back at Timmy. "You remember the agreement right?"

"No one will know we're here until we solve the problem, it's easier with less people to get in the way," Timmy recited. They had returned to Dimmsdale, it was his home and the place where it all began.

"I'm going to take a shower; you raid the refrigerator if you're hungry, Tootie usually has it ready in case I show up." Vicky continued up the stairs.

It didn't take Timmy long to call after her, "Tootie knows about this? Is she coming?"

"She knows but I don't think she's coming, if she does I'll tell her to leave. It was a deal between her and me. I don't really get along with her but she insisted on keeping some sort of connection with me. This house is it, she'll keep it clean and supplied and in exchange she'll be allowed to visit," Vicky didn't know why Tootie would want that but it looked like a good enough deal.

"Then she might not want to leave right away if she comes..." Timmy reasoned.

"Is she still stalking you?"

"Not really, she finally gave about two years ago."

As if on cue a key was turned, the front door unlocked and Tootie entered with several grocery bags which slipped right out of her grasp when she who the two people who currently occupied the house. As soon as the shock passed, Tootie regained enough movement to close the door. "Then it was true... "

Timmy immediately shook his head. "No wasn't!"

"What exactly are you talking about?" Vicky questioned, trying to avoid assuming anything.

"That Timmy became your assistant," Tootie began.

"That's true," Timmy corrected himself.

"and," Tootie continued, "boyfriend."

"Not true!" Timmy wasted no time in clarifying it.

"Definitely not, I do hope you didn't really believe that," Vicky rolled her eyes and the action somehow bothered Timmy.

"Because it's so terrible," Timmy added in sarcasm.

Tootie was about to say something but remained quiet so instead Vicky spoke, "keep saying things like that and I'll assumed you want me to like you."

Vicky said that too easily for Timmy's liking, as if it was so impossible it didn't matter if she spoke so casually. "I just want some respect, I want you to look at me as a man," as opposed to as a little boy, but without adding that last part it had an odd ring to it.

"Oh?" Vicky knew the way the words played out was accidental and for once she allowed herself to relax a little and laugh. Tootie simply stood around open mouthed.

Realization fell on Timmy, "I didn't mean it like that!"

But Vicky continued to laugh. "I know."

Timmy smiled, he was embarrassed, sure he was, but he hasn't seen Vicky laughing in a none-evil was before and if he had he did not remember. "Obviously I'm the third wheel here," Tootie turned around and reached for the door.

"It's not like that!" Timmy once again denied it.

"Timmy..." Tootie tilted her head as if indicating for Timmy to approach which he did, "go out with her, make her more... human, give her hope, show her she can be loved." After whispering her request Tootie left and Timmy looked both surprised and embarrassed.

"Did she whisper sweet nothings?" Vicky asked.

"No, she told me to fall in love with you," it was so impossible that this time Timmy had no problems saying it, and no problems with Vicky's amused reactions. Maybe she was more tied than he realized after all they went through if she showed the side of her that could be amused in a none-evil way.

She had a lot of exhausting meetings, nightmares and her vacation was ruined. Though they did have a room ready for Timmy the next morning, it did not good as they left on that very morning. He didn't really protest, he wasn't in the mood for a vacation anyway and if they were going to be stalked by a magical killer, it might as well be in a familiar place.

When the laughter faded an awkward silence settled in, leaving behind a sour atmosphere as Vicky went upstairs and Timmy stood silently for a moment before picking up the grocery bags Tootie left behind and taking them to the kitchen.

"No one can fall in love with me; it's so silly it's funny." Cosmo and Wanda who had reappeared quickly turned into pink ketchup and green juice. They had not heard Vicky coming while helping Timmy put away the groceries, but she wasn't saying anything about fairies so they assumed they hid their true forms fast enough.

"If you were nicer," Timmy turned to face who he thought was Vicky after letting out a breath of relief thinking that Cosmo and Wanda had not been discovered.

The one standing there was not Vicky but the blood stained killer. "I'm good at replaying thoughts in the owner's own voice," he laughed insanely. "Is she resting is peace? I couldn't do it so I let fairy would do it, they better not take long, Jorgen said they wouldn't, he said they discovered it, no more experiments."

"What are you talking about? What do you want?" Timmy questioned.

"The head," the assassin spoke, "the head I left."

"Explain," Timmy kept his icy glare firm on the killer, Cosmo and Wanda returning their true forms by his side.
