Your summary gives the story away.

I don't see why Lindsay would be allowed in the break room of a CSI lab.

I have removed the portion of the summary that you felt gave away the story plot.

Strangly enough, no one else has mentioned that it would be unlikely for Lindsay to do her science project in the CSI breakroom. I do concede that it would be unlikely, but if memory serves I believe there was one or two instances before Lindsays Father died that Catherine was forced to bring Lindsay with her to work and Lindsay was allowed to stay in the breakroom.
