xwingace My guess would be something like this:

http://www.ficwad.com/stories.php?action=newstory&sid=12345&catid=999&submit=newchapter&postchapter=1

with in place of 12345 the story ID number, and in place of 999 the category ID number.

Hope that helps. But really you'd probably be better of deleting the old chapter and starting a new story, so that it'll show up in your editable stories table (this may be moot if you've already got reviews you want to preserve, though.

ClandestineUnited I sort of have the same problem. I just put up a story that was only intended to have one chapter to it, and it cut off half off the text even though I put all of it in, and now I can't delete it or edit it, because it won't show up in my edit stories. Any suggestions?

xwingace You have to replace the numbers in the links given above with the story (and in one case, category)ID for your story, not just click the links.

The story ID for your story is the number that appears in the adressbar when you're viewing your story, after 'sid=' .
Copy this into the 'delete' link given in this thread and the faulty story will be deleted. Then you can reupload it and (hopefully) it'll show up in your editable stories list this time.

ShenLong I'm new here and tried to upload the first chapter in a multi parter fic, only to continuously get the 'error' message. I gave up in the end and then discovered the fic had uploaded 3 times! I've repeatedly tried to go to edit stories so I can delete 2 of the uploads but to no avail; the fic isn't showing up at all in my account section, that's provided I can get the page to load at all instead of the constant 'error' message. I've tried what other's have suggested here and still cannot delete 2 of the uploads. Frankly, betwent he constant 'error' message and the frustration of not having anyting I try work, it's really starting to bug the hell out of me. Is this a recent problem or is it ongoing? How the heck can I delete the fic when it doesn't show up and the suggestions made in the forum don't work because I can't even get to the fic due to the continuous 'error' message? sigh I'm fresh out of ideas so any help would be appreciated. If this is an ongoing problem and not likely to be resolved anytime soon then all I can see is this site will start to lose a lot of very talented writers if all you're ever going to get are error messages each time you try to access anything, and that would be a shame.

Ithilwen Yes, something similar happens with reviews. Even if the site can't load the "posted properly" page, the request itself usually goes through. I make a point of checking the review page before I hit the button a second time. Maybe something similar would work with story uploads.

Michelle I second that. Usually, even if the site gives you an error, your post goes through. So, if in a rage you repeatedly hit post you will get repeated errors and repeated posts.

Still, this is not even annoying or frustrating anymore. It makes the site impossible to use. It'd be really swell if one of the admins could finally comment on this. Or better even, do something about it.

I don't want to sound rude, but it's not much fun to navigate Ficwad at the moment:(
