History: Born in 1465 to an unknown mother and Radu cel Frumos, during her Father’s third year of ruling Walachia. She lived in the palace until age ten, when her father(34) died of syphilis (1475). When Basarab Laiotã cel Bãtrân (Basarab Laiotã the Old) succeeded her father she was sent to live with her uncle Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler) in Hungary. Vlad allowed her to live wih him, although he and his brother had fueded. The next year (1476) Vlad took over Walachia, once again Serena(11) lived in the castle in which she had grown up. Vlad kept her hidden and well secluded from many, though she still managed to see the horridness of her Uncle’s ways. The cruelty may have scarred such a young mind, however Serena reveled in it. She began to impale rodents and birds and all sorts of small creatures. Later that year(1476) Vlad Dracul was killed in battle. Despite the distant relasionship with her Uncle she wept. Serena(17) stayed in the castle until 1482, under a false name, posing as a servant. One night she snuck down to a band of gypsies, who were staying the night in the courtyard, with spare food. So fascinated was she with their tales and lifestyle she decided to run away with them the next morning. Serena and the gypsies traveled all around Hungary, including Walachia, Moldavia, and other surounding areas. Serena formed a special bond with Emaus Meche, a gypsy male close to her age that shared the same lust for mischief and brutality. He often called her “Camomescro”, which loosely translates to “friend” or “lover”, or just “Camlo” which translates to “love”. One night almost a year later the gypsies were camping out in a courtyard they called Castle Dracula, Serena was excited upon hearing the name, knowing it must have been one of the castles her uncle had owned. Upon showing interest the gypsies warned her about the “vrykolakas”, or vampiric creature, that was said to live in the castle. Later that night Emaus came to Serena and told her that vrykolakases would not leave their dweling on Saturdays, which it was. Serena and Emaus climbed a tree whos branch led to the lowest castle window. The two explored for sometime, then came across a creature. Emaus tried to save Serena yelling, “Vrykolakas! Vrykolakas, hide!” But she just stood there, and watched as the creature drained her friend of his blood then turned to her. As it stood before her almost ten years of age disappeared and before her stood her Uncle, Vladimir Dracula. Vlad recognized his neice and took her in. Within the year he turned her into a vampire, though the exact date is unknown, Serena has never confided in anyone exact details of her transformation. In the year 1773, Serena’s 250th year as a vampire, she left her Uncle’s castle in search of others like herself. She searched for many years, exploring the entire world. Serena often came across myths of other vampires, however did not find any others like herself. Serena searched for 50 years, then in 1823 she came across a small band of Vampires by the name of “Coven dei Vampires” in Italy. She quickly became attached to this small Coven and rose quickly in their ranks, given both her age and the fact that her maker was the infamous Dracula. In the year 1879 when Italy was under the rule of king Umberto, and close to Serena’s 400th year as a vampire, a vampire by the name of Scarlett de Avalon entered the safe house of Coven dei Vampires. She was the second oldest vampire Serena had ever met (besides her Uncle), being 312 years a vampire (the oldest vampire Serena had met was an elder that was almost seven hundred years old before he went insane and stepped into the light of day). Scarlett and Serena became very close and within months grew tired of the small powerless Coven dei Vampires. Together they formed the world famous “House of Moonlight Hysteria”. In time this coven has grown to be the largest and most powerful vampire coven, and has even (in recent years) opened its doors to witches, warlocks, and Lycans (despite the rumored feuds that rage between the two species). Serena and Scarlett only accepted the best into HoMH; lengthy applications were and still are needed in order to join, as well as proving your worth. The Coven grew quickly and by the time Bram Stoker’s Dracula was published in 1897 it was infamous throughout Europe. Dracula itself was a laugh to Serena, the fact mortals wrote about killing her Uncle posed as quite an amusement. Shortly after the turn of the century Scarlett and Serena decided to make House of Moonlight Hysteria a world wide Coven. In 1905 they traveled to the United States of America, specifically New Orleans. They set up a large Coven in the French Quarters, which attracted many vampires to the New Orleans area, and gives truth to Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles.
